This week we continue our focus on the women of Mission Alive as our annual Mission 813 Giving Day grows closer. We pray that as you learn more about the women who serve God in innovative and challenging ways, you will be moved to support them through prayer and giving.
Rachel Montesdeoca serves alongside her husband Vini in Abilene, Texas. Their ministry is one of time intensive, one-on-one discipleship. Below Rachel shares about the work, her joys and her challenges:
I have seen God move in powerful and vivid ways through the support of friends and family as we’ve ministered to people in our community. What has impacted me most is how individuals from past ministries have returned, seeking to ask deeper questions and explore new ways to grow in their faith. There is a clear and beautiful desire among them to strengthen their relationship with God.
In May, my daughter and I were blessed with the opportunity to travel to Mexico to minister to my sister as she welcomed her second daughter. We spent a week with her and her husband, who serve as missionaries there. It was a true joy to support them during this special time and to hold my precious new niece.
It is a constant challenge to keep pace with the rapid growth of our ministry while also balancing our family responsibilities. I would truly appreciate your prayers for wisdom and strength to maintain balance, and in gratitude for the many ways MA continues to support and encourage us. Thank you!
