Favorite Bible Verse:
Ezekiel 12:8-9
He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh.Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.

Why do I serve on the Mission Alive board?
I serve because in the Mission Alive organization I’ve found excellent conversation partners about building innovative faith communities that take the good news of Jesus to where people are rather than simply building institutions and waiting for people to come. MA is an extremely thoughtful and growingly fruitful organization.

Michael Martin

Michael began serving on the board in 2024. He and his wife, Julia, live in Ventura, California, where Michael is an attorney and partner at the law firm of Myers, Widders, Gibson, Jones & Feingold, LLP. Michael serves as board treasurer.

Why do I serve on the Mission Alive board?

Because it focuses on an essential aspect of Jesus’ ministry to the marginalized – to proclaim good news to the poor, to free captives, to restore sight to the blind, and to set the oppressed free (Luke 4:18-19).

Charles Pierson

Charles Pierson has served on the board since 2018, becoming president in 2019. He received a BS and a MBA from Vanderbilt University. Charles is the Executive Director of The Sumners Foundation, which encourages citizens to be involved in self-governance by way of student scholarship and organizational grants. Charles and his wife, Pam, live in Arlington, Texas.

Why do I serve on the Mission Alive board?

I am proud to serve on the board because Mission Alive is executing the Great Commission by planting churches that are executing the Great Commandment of loving the Lord and loving their neighbors.

Why do I serve on the Mission Alive board?

To honor Jesus’s Great Commission to tell the world about his salvation by reaching rural areas through church plants and creating disciples.
