Mission Alive is pleased to announce an upcoming two-day event, Trauma Responsive Care, led by Dr. Fred Liggin of 3e Restoration, on May 1–2, 2026. This interactive workshop will equip church leaders, ministry teams, and Christian practitioners to understand the impact of trauma and respond with hospitality and Christlike compassion. Participants who complete the workshop will receive certification in Trauma Responsive Care.
Dr. Liggin brings a wealth of experience and scholarship to this training. He holds a Doctorate of Ministry from Northern Seminary, is a Certified Trauma Professional and S.T.A.R. (Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience) Practitioner, Co-Owner of Philoxenia Culture LLC, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at William & Mary University. As founder and lead practitioner of 3e Restoration, Dr. Liggin has spent years helping congregations become communities where transformation and healing take root through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Throughout the two-day experience, participants will explore theology, neuroscience, and pastoral practices that foster relational healing and resilience. Through teaching, reflection, and conversation, church leaders will gain practical frameworks for creating trauma-responsive ministries marked by safety, empathy, and hope.
In a time when many individuals carry unseen wounds from neglect, abuse, or loss, this workshop provides the tools to walk compassionately with those who are hurting. Whether you serve in pastoral care, community outreach, or leadership, you’ll discover new ways to nurture environments where healing can flourish.
3e Restoration is an IACET Accredited Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (i.e., IACET) and is able to offer standardized CEUs to industry professionals, including nurses, social workers, psychologists, and many more. Participants must attend both days of the workshop to receive CEUs.
