Trauma shapes the lives of people in every community—and ministry leaders are often among the first people individuals and families turn to for support, guidance, prayer, and hope. Mission Alive invites preachers, pastors, ministers, ministry teams, nonprofit staff, church leaders, volunteers, educators, and community servants to prepare for this important work by attending the upcoming Trauma Responsive Care Workshop with Dr. Fred Liggin of 3e Restoration.
This intensive, Christ-centered training will be held November 10–12, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, at the Southeast Irving Community Center, located at 1712 Carl Rd., Irving, TX 75061.
The three-day workshop is designed for anyone serving others in ministry or community-based leadership. Participants will explore the critical intersection of theology, trauma, and resilience while gaining practical tools to recognize trauma’s impact and respond with greater wisdom and compassion. In a time when many people are carrying visible and invisible wounds, leaders need more than good intentions. They need a deeper understanding of how trauma affects relationships, behavior, trust, spiritual formation, and community life.
This workshop is especially significant because it commits to Trauma-Responsive Care through a Christ-centered lens. Participants will not simply learn concepts; they will be equipped to apply what they learn in real ministry settings. The training will help leaders become more attentive and effective as they walk alongside people navigating crisis, grief, loss, instability, abuse, isolation, and other difficult life experiences.
Mission Alive offered this conference in Irving for the first time earlier this year. It brought together preachers, pastors, church planters, staff members, and leaders from across the country. The response was remarkable. Participants described the experience as deeply meaningful and among the most ministry-changing trainings they had attended. They emphasized the power of what a church would look like if it were more than trauma-aware and it became trauma-responsive. They affirmed that every church has members who carry trauma with them daily. Their strong response made clear that more leaders needed access to this kind of preparation.
Because of the impact of the first workshop, Mission Alive is bringing Dr. Liggin and 3e Restoration back to Irving this November. This is an opportunity for more leaders, teams, and organizations to develop a shared language and practical framework for compassionate, trauma-responsive ministry.
Certification in Trauma-Responsive Care is available for participants who want to take the next step in their learning and professional development. Whether you serve as a pastor, ministry volunteer, board member, counselor, nonprofit leader, outreach worker, or caregiver, this workshop can strengthen your ability to create environments of safety, trust, healing, and hope.
