There is power in a shared vision!

Steve and Laura Allen, who lead The Table-Irving, began partnering with Mission Alive in 2023. The following is taken from their website:

Imagine a community of Christ followers built not on buildings, paid staff or Sunday morning gatherings but on exploring the gifts and passions of those in our community, and then empowering our fellow co-laborers to be the people of God that He is leadings us to be.

Just like Mission Alive, The Table- Irving is passionate about sharing the love of God with marginalized communities and they continue to make strides in serving individuals and families in need in south Irving. This past week, The Table-Irving hosted an open house for their soon to open community centers in the area. This event was an opportunity for donors, supporters, and community members to come together and see firsthand the impact that these centers will have on the lives of individuals and families in need. Through ongoing discussions and needs assessments, The Table  has identified four high priority areas of needed resources in the community: mental health, addiction recovery, financial literacy and educational and job training resources. They are partnering with three other non-profit organizations, working to address these challenges head-on. Part of the vision of The Table- Irving is to create gathering places for residents in marginalized areas that will allow them to connect and walk with individuals and families as they deal with the challenges and celebrate the successes in their lives and helping them to see along the way that the biggest and best step they can take is by having an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ.
