On April 30-May 3, Pepperdine University will host its 81st annual Bible Lectures entitled Running with Perseverance and representatives of Mission Alive will teach two of the many classes available.
On Wednesday, May 1, Mission Alive’s Executive Director, Tod Vogt, and his wife Candace will lead a workshop to explore 7 Crucial Principles for Congregational Discipleship. The workshop will present both general discipleship principles and leadership principles. These principles will provide a solid foundation for anyone leading congregational discipleship. Some of the principles to be presented are the Irrigation Principle, the Jazz Principle, and the Vanguard Principle. All of these will help your discipleship ministry bear Kingdom fruit! The workshop will be held in the Surfboard Room at 2pm.
If you will be attending Harbor and would like to contact Tod, his email is tod@missionalive.org or you can text him at 214-364-2756.
Also on Wednesday, Mission Alive board member, Jason Locke, will present Reimagining Church and Church Leadership for a New Era. In this one-hour class, Jason will help participants imagine new ways of doing church in our changing world. While most churches clearly need traditional forms of gathering for worship, along with traditional forms of administration and pastoral leadership, how can churches actually make Christianity relevant to people who will never walk in the doors of a church building? How might we create new forms of Christian community and lead innovative teams to reach non-church-goers with the good news of Jesus? This session will look at concrete ideas for how to break out of existing frameworks. The class will meet at 10:00 am in the Surfboard Room.
