Many organizations utilize an annual giving day to highlight a special opportunity to support their cause. The day is often selected for an anniversary or special date that marks an important milestone in the life of the organization.

So, why did we pick August 13? Because the date is symbolic of our name–Mission813 (August 13 or 8/13). Why 813? Our name refers to Luke 8:1-3, the verse which inspired our name and our purpose. Jesus and his disciples were supported in part from the women who traveled with them–women who gave from their own resources and out of their own convictions. Mission813 is a group of women who are leading in this same spirit to support the church planters and leaders of Mission Alive; support that comes in the form of encouragement, prayer and monetary resources.

We challenge you to read these three short verses. We pray that you, like many of us, will be convicted by God to use your resources to support Mission Alive. A great time to start your support is on Giving Day, August 13. You can also reach out to us at mission813@missionalive.org and learn more about what we do. Let’s grab a virtual coffee and explore together the calling of M813.
