The women of Mission813 invite you to be a part of what we pray will be our biggest Giving Day ever! Our goal is $50,000. Giving has already begun and we can’t wait for you to join our efforts!
Our focus of this year’s giving will be to bring Evan Tardy onto the Mission Alive staff full time so that she can assist with training, recruitment and encouragement of our church planters and new innovative faith communities. The “Why” Behind Mission 813

For those not familiar with Mission 813, allow me to share with you its foundational roots. You may have read the gospel of Luke many times. The words and events that Luke writes about are a witness to what Jesus intended ministry to be about. In the midst of these words, there are three verses easy to overlook:
Luke 8:1-3 Soon afterward, Jesus began going around from one city and village to another, proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of God. The twelve were with Him, 2. and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, 3. and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who were contributing to their support out of their private means.
These women were a powerful force behind and beside the disciples as they journeyed and shared the love of God with those on the margins. These women lived in a time and place where change was deeply needed. They were brave enough to recognize the need and take action. Out of their own convictions and their own means they provided tangible support to the disciples. They were innovators who played an important role in the gospel of Luke.
Mission 813 is a group of women, associated with Mission Alive, who want to take a stand and be modern-day innovators. We seek to support financially and spiritually all of those associated with Mission Alive who, like the disciples in Luke, are actively pursuing new ways to reach the marginalized.
