Bridging Local Churches and Granting Organizations for New IFCs
The Bell Trust, in partnership with Greenville Oaks Church of Christ in Allen, Texas, has awarded Mission Alive a pivotal grant to bolster one of our newest Innovative Faith Communities (IFCs). This funding underscores a shared commitment to fostering spiritual renewal and community transformation through innovative church planting.
The Grant’s Strategic Impact
Established in 1956 by Robert S. and Katharine Bell, The Bell Trust has distributed over $33 million to support ministers, missionaries, and church initiatives worldwide. Partnering with the Greenville Oaks Church of Christ, this grant targets a fledgling IFC within Mission Alive’s Rural and Small-Town Initiative (RSTI). This support will accelerate the IFC’s launch, enabling leaders to prioritize our serve-first model that builds authentic relationships, addresses local needs, and cultivates flourishing faith environments.
Mission Alive hopes this will be a catalyst for small towns and rural areas that are often overlooked. The grant equips the IFC with resources for training, coaching, and partnerships in trauma-responsive ministry and community engagement, aligning with broader goals of spiritual and community renewal.
Future Funding Vision
This collaboration signals Mission Alive’s proactive strategy to secure similar backing for all new IFCs. With plans for at least three new launches in 2026, including rural expansions, Mission Alive intends to pursue grants from organizations and churches passionate about starting a new generation of churches. By replicating this model, Mission Alive aims to scale our network, empowering leaders to create resilient, hope-filled communities nationwide.
Greenville Oaks’ involvement exemplifies the local churches’ role in starting new churches across the country, bridging generous donors like The Bell Trust with innovative planters. This grant not only helps to launch one IFC but inspires a funding pipeline, ensuring Mission Alive’s vision endures: churches as beacons of purposeful faith and neighborly love.
