Prayer Requests
from the Crossing in San Antonio PDF Print E-mail

July 30, 2010

Bob and Patti Grigg, church planters in San Antonio, recently went with a group from their partnering church (Southern Hills in Abilene) on a mission trip to Haiti.  Their not-yet-believing neighbors joined them.  On the last night there both made a profound confession to Patti and Bob.  They wanted to become followers of Jesus.  Bob writes, "We would have baptized them right there in Haiti but the pool had been drained" and no water was available. Please take some time to pray for God’s mission in Haiti this week.

In July, we had a family worship and game night with 37 people at Westlake park. Then we had a monthly worship gathering at the DeVille home (new members) on Sunday morning (38 people attended). Afterward we had a potluck for all and swimming for the children. The last family left at 5pm. We had our first teen missional community (with 12 teen participants) which teaches life skills utilizing the book of proverbs. In August, none of the 4 missional communities will be lead by me. In these groups we have reached out to people of English, French, Latin, African, and Middle Eastern descent. Furthermore, we have come in contact and befriended people of all ages, socioeconomic levels, and lifestyles in our missional communities. Pray that we may reach all people with the Gospel of Christ.

Praise God! We had a great picnic event on Sunday at White Rock Lake for 40+ people. We shared communion together, had several disconnected friends and neighbors attend, and had a baby blessing for the daughter of new parents - one of whom is part of Storyline and the other is not a Christian.

We had one of our house churches featured on the front page of the Denver Post which has led to the USA today reposting on-line and Fox News asking for footage of our churches. Our network of Higher Point, Clay Neighborhood and others will be hosting a booth at a very large Christian music festival this coming weekend. We are excited about the exposure for our house churches and would like for God to be glorified.
