1. New Orleans, Louisiana: Freshwater

Mission: Freshwater is a coalition of individuals, churches and organizations, convened and facilitated by Mission Alive, committed to working together to participate in the spiritual transformation of the New Orleans metropolitan area through planting Christ-formed churches. fresh water emanating from the altar of God and flowing in increasing measure into the neighborhoods, communities and suburbs of the New Orleans metropolitan area to bring sustenance and renewed vitality.

In the spirit of Ezekiel 47:1-12, we envision working together to provide a stream of fresh water emanating from the altar of God and flowing in increasing measure into the neighborhoods, communities and suburbs of the New Orleans metropolitan area to bring sustenance and renewed vitality.

We believe God is calling us to work together to bring about the complete transformation of the city of New Orleans and the surrounding area so that a generation from now the character of the city is no longer marred by violence and corruption but reflects the peace and holiness of God.

2. Wichita, Kansas: LivingWater Outreach

Mission: LivingWater would exist to bring about spiritual transformation in the Delano neighborhood near downtown Wichita.  The RiverWalk Church of Christ is committed to helping people experience this transformation as we demonstrate the boundless love of God through words and actions. LivingWater is an extension of this vision, targeting this specific neighborhood of Wichita, Kansas.

Just as Jesus invited people to experience living water (John 4 and John 7), we want to help carry this live-giving resource into the Delano neighborhood.  Our goal is to look for ways to open the spigots of this living water through increased community involvement and a network of house churches in the Delano and downtown neighborhoods.  We want the flow of living water to bring renewal and change into people’s lives.  We want men, women, and children to come face-to-face with the hope offered by the life-giving stream

Riverwalk is looking for individuals or a couple who would prayerfully consider dedicating themselves to this ministry.  While Riverwalk is already highly involved in this community it is imperative that the church send someone into the community to live and to form a new community of believers.  The church can no longer invite people to come to join the church, the church must go to them.  Riverwalk has spent a good deal of time praying for direction, resources and individuals that can make this happen. We believe now is the time to follow God’s direction in this matter.
